Next to Normal

For many of the creative team and local community, the issues discussed in Next to Normal hit close to home. The characters in this show are deeply human and familiar to anyone who has struggled with their own or a loved one’s mental illness. I collaborated with a number of local theaters and sourced from used clothing outlets to create a picture that was grounded in reality. We wanted to highlight the passage of time over the course of the story, so I used a capsule wardrobe structure to maximize the amount of looks per actor with a small number of pieces.
