The False Harlequin, or Il Finto Arlecchino, was the second of two 40 minute operas produced by Susquehanna University. This comedic opera follows a host of wacky suitors as they attempt to win a singing contest and the hand of diva Donna Rosaura. Our production employed a dance ensemble of maids and butlers, who imbued the many musical breaks with laughter and movement. Commedia dell’Arte characters engage in mischief and mistaken identity to bring everybody to a happy ending.
